From Farm to Fashion Menu Design
For this menu we were asked to design it to look like a fashion magazine that emphasized farming. The cover sports a model whom we placed in front of a field with a strong horizon line that informed the type layout. The inside includes articles and the menu itself.
Forces of Nature Menu Design
Here is another unique menu for a hypothetical restaurant themed to extreme weather and fictionally hit by said weather. As such the highly detailed menu is digitally "themed," one of our specialties, with extensive water damage to the paper and plenty of ink run.
Popular Diversions Magazine Design - Cover & Table of Contents
Popular Diversions is a publication that we concocted entirely in-house from concept to execution. It's a magazine devoted to art, entertainment, and travel. The cover showcases our captain, Jason Leppert's, great photography as does the table of contents.
Popular Diversions Magazine Design - Article Title Spread
This title spread is intentionally photo-centric with a strong horizontal layout paired with vacation colors and a unique text treatment that intersects with the photo very elegantly. The three-line art deco theme for the article is also established here.
Popular Diversions Magazine Design - Article Content Spread
The main article spread continues the linear style from the title spread and takes it diagonally, but more interestingly features one of our captain, Jason Leppert's, photographs as a day and night illustration of a cruise ship pool deck scene split by that diagonal.
Popular Diversions Magazine Design - Article Content Continuation & Back Cover Ad
The article finishes off with a two column layout with one of those columns occupied by a very thin vertical photograph revealing a very kinetic cruise ship wake. We placed a fun retro-inspired advertisement for our previous company name on the back cover.
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror: From Start to Finish Book - Design Study
Our captain, Jason Leppert, photographed the construction of this ride at Disney's California Adventure. As a creative exercise, we built a book from the photos "themed" to a maintenance log as per the ride's 1939 elevator back-story. (view disclaimer here)
Pixar Annual Report Design - Cover & Story Spread - Design Study
At the time of this hypothetical annual report, designed as a creative exercise, Pixar's next film was to be Cars. To focus on the emphasis Pixar places on story above anything else, the cover solely includes the film's text synopsis. (view disclaimer here)
Pixar Annual Report Design - Characters Spread - Design Study
As with the preceding story spread, this spread starts with a focus on Cars first followed by Pixar\'s previous films. This spread is all about characters and consequently features "themed" dossiers on many of Pixar's beloved characters. (view disclaimer here)
Pixar Annual Report Design - Voice Actors Spread - Design Study
Pixar's films are inhabited by characters which are given life to their souls by their respective voice actors. This spread celebrates those actors with a fun circular framing of their portraits and characters as well as a playful "voice actors" logo. (view disclaimer here)
Pixar Annual Report Design - Technology Spread & Back Cover - Design Study
This final technology spread describes Pixar's Renderman rendering engine technology and the use of this tool inside and outside of Pixar. Lastly, the cover is finished off simply with the Cars logo and a story specific metallic fleck paint job. (view disclaimer here)
A Taste of New York Menu Design
Continuing our repertoire of unique menu designs, this one is "themed" and modeled after a New York newspaper complete with front page articles. Page two is comprised of the menu itself flanked by the article continuations all formatted as newspaper content.
J. House Photography - Senior Portraits Tri-Fold Brochure Design
This brochure features a format and color scheme that is carried through into the next. The cover and central interior photos have had their backgrounds isolated from the foreground and then gradated to white to lighten areas where the logo and text are placed.
J. House Photography - Wedding Portraits Tri-Fold Brochure Design
This brochure uses the same albeit reversed color scheme as the previous one. As with the first and as an interesting extra detail, the cover features a photo of a woman facing forward while the back cover features a woman walking away.
Fahrenheit Triangular Brochure Design - Design Study
In keeping with our creative exercise to design a logo and brochure for this residential complex, the brochure follows the triangular theme established in the logo with a fold pattern that opens up into a beach ball like design of colorful panels. (view disclaimer here)
