Breathe Easy Dentistry Logo
The design of this logo is based on clean, relaxed pastel colors with an allusion to a smile as well as a soft blur to convey a sense of breathy serenity. The website design we created for them follows the aesthetic established in the logo. View the Website Here
Pro Finish Automotive Paint Repair Logo
In one of the few examples of a colorless design, we designed this logo in black and white at the request of the client. The goal of this design was to convey a timeless hot-rod style paired with a modern central symbol by integrating its flow into the logo's border frame.
Aker of Quilts Logo
For this logo, the goal was to capture the tradition of longarm quilting and the pun of the fun company name (the owner's name is Bonnie Aker) as well as create a design that could be rendered well in embroidery with vibrant thread colors.
Aker of Quilts Business Card - Back Side
The front side of the business card is mainly just the logo and contact information, but we wanted to place something on the back of the card to increase exposure should the card be flipped over as well as to tell the "story" of the longarm quilts.
Murphys Travel Logo
Harkening back to vintage travel imagery, this logo exhibits a forward-focused, vibrant optimism very appropriate for the travel agency. Clean shadows finish off the overall effect. This aesthetic was carried through into the agency's website. View the Website Here
Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage Logo - Design Study
Prior to the reopening of the Submarine Voyage at Disneyland, we gave ourselves a creative exercise to design an attraction logo and additional hypothetical marketing material. The logo is very nautical, intentionally alluding to Nautilus styling. (view disclaimer here)
Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage Comprehensive Branding - Design Study
Following the logo, we created a poster reminiscent of Disney's vintage attraction posters, a porthole-framed website, hypothetical event signage and a chewy candy package sealed with portholes and featuring the infamous "mine" seagulls. (view disclaimer here)
Sorrento Stone Logo & Promo Card Design
Sorrento Stone is a synthetic solid surface building product that is both modern and timeless. To design the logo we wanted to emphasize the synthetic with the double "S" helix symbol while maintaining a very clean timeless typeface for the product name.
Megan Leppert Business Card - Front & Back Sides
Influenced by the extravagance of Vegas, these business cards, set on a diagonal axis, perfectly suit the personality and interests of this chef. Day and night spotlights shine bright on culinary tools, and the card back defines her self-described "culinary illusionist" title.
Existence Church Core Challenge Logo
This is the original logo for Existence Church's iteration of the 80/20 Challenge app we specified. Back then the emphasis of the app was on spiritual core training thus the fitness vibe with the anthropomorphic letter "C" as well as the energy core for the letter "O."
Forces of Nature Logo
Showcasing our "themed" work, this logo was designed for a culinary event to represent a hypothetical restaurant that was supposedly hit hard by a freak storm. Appearing printed on a water damaged menu, the sliced logo foreshadows the damage.
From Farm to Fashion Masthead
We were assigned with designing a menu for a culinary event that was to be formatted as a fashion magazine. We started by designing this masthead for the magazine's cover which references the farming aspect while also evoking art-deco style.
Backstreet Logo
As our last colorless example, this cover-band logo was designed with the intent of illustrating a harder edge à la film-noir alley grit while still exhibiting unique characteristics such as the flowing "S" present in helping to tie the logo together as a whole.
Gaslamp Church Logo
To create a logo intended for a church residing in the heart of downtown San Diego, we took an unorthodox approach to including a cross in the design. The bird's-eye perspective of downtown high-rises outlining a cross composed of city streets fits the bill.
"In Real Time" Sermon Series Title Card Design
At Existence Church, each sermon series is assigned a title and theme. For "In Real Time," our solution was a warm-toned photo collage of timepieces with a cool-toned title on top which was photographed for shallow depth of field and then composited in place.
Imagineering Alchemy Logo
For our captain, Jason Leppert's, university senior thesis photographic exhibition focused on the interface between fantasy and reality at the Disneyland Resort, we designed a very colorful logo that emphasizes the exhibit's unique Disney-influenced title.
Alaskan Brewing Company Logo - Design Study
While our favorite brewery already has a logo, we thought it might be fun to design an alternative as a creative exercise. We came up with this one that includes our own custom woodsy typeface while featuring the brewery's establishing year. (view disclaimer here)
Fahrenheit Logo - Design Study
Fahrenheit, a residential high-rise building in downtown San Diego, made for a fun hypothetical creative exercise. Our logo concept focuses on the temperature idea by pairing modern cool and warm colors applied to a unique triangular crest. (view disclaimer here)
